Dear Sabrina,
I'm unfamiliar with the term "psychopomps." Sounds
like walking in crazy, red shoes-- just kidding. In
shamanistic traditions, it is not uncommon for a
Medicine Man or Woman to assist the transition to the
afterlife. In this they act a loving guide to bring
troubled and "earthbound" spirits orientation and
assist in visits of this plane. The process for the
Shaman is similar to Dream Walking. Primarily this
occurs on what is often thought of as the astral
plane, which explains the disassociated images and
dramas of the experiences. Many traditions allude to
this role of the priest or Medicine Man. In a recent
post I spoke of experiences in healing coming from
other incarnations. Could this be what is occuring?
Blessings, Acara.
