Dear OMA,

It sounds like you're going thru one of those "dark night of the soul"
periods. After an awakening, epiphany, or having worked thru K. symptoms,
there ensues a long quiet period, where it seems nothing interesting is
happening. This is where apathy tries to slip in. If apathy successfully
takes root, you stop practicing.

This should be a time for fine tuning. Listen to your heart. Your practice
is probably not ideal. During a period like this, I realized that bhakti
and personal gods and trancendent gurus were not the right path for me, so I
switched from yoga to zen. Now practice is easy, and I look forward to it.

>I'm feeling very extroverted and have a great sense of apathy, or >rather a

>fear death,

That's a major accomplishment. I can totally relate to where you are. Find
a practice with heart.

What bothers me about mainstream Christians (as well as those from other
religions) is that they don't seem to be coming from a truly spiritual
place. They appear to be motivated by a vain and prideful need to be better
than others, to elevate themselves above others rather than connect with the
feeling of oneness and compassion. They idolize the bible (or Koran, or
Vedas, or whatever) as "the Word of God" rather than feeling their inner
living Spirit. The bible has an interesting quality; if you take various
passages out of context, and piece them together, you can get it to mean
almost anything you desire.

>can't believe in ghosts and be a Christian and things of that >sort. K is
>God given. I'm exploring God's gift. And God doesn't send >us to Hell, we
>send ourselves there with our sins.

Again, I can relate to this. Most people seem like such self-absorbed
self-righteous jackasses. But why let it grow into hate? Truly they have
their own reward -- suffering. Just speak the truth as you've experienced
it directly thru K. Let hate turn to apathy, which will eventually turn to
compassion for the delusion and suffering that others bring upon themselves.
>Does anyone else think that mankind is lost in it's immaturity and

Actually, it seems like a phenomenally greater number of people are becoming
K. awake. Yet this is still a very small percentage of the general
population.

Who knows if we'll see any mass awakening in our lifetimes. The best one
can do is to work on oneself and hope it spreads to others. Be here now.
Lead by example.
Peace,
