hello Acara,

when i speak with Christians who are obsessing about "damnation and hell", i
like to ask them if they personally would condemn a person to eternal
suffering for whatever offense is being spoken about... normally they will
answer that of course they wouldn't be so cruel...

then, i ask if they really think that it's likely that they are so much
kinder and compasionate than the loving God that they believe in... this
often helps them to see God through the eyes of their own kindness and
compassion, and to be less afraid...

while i don't suggest planning a conversation around this point... perhaps
it will helpfully find its way into whatever spontaneous loving support
comes through you...

warmly,

percyval
