Best advice on the post yet.. imho.

Only two kinds of people claim to be talking to God..
Those who are.. and those who are insane. But it kinda behooves the
rest of us to treat it with respect until we know for sure.

God will not tolerate someone saying "Thus sayeth the Lord"
for very long if it isn't the truth. So don't worry, He will handle it.

God is good, kind, loving, compassionate, and everything He does
is for our greater good if we believe and love the truth.. so the "message"
will be all the credential you need to validate "the messenger"

"If you don't believe in me, believe in my message"

Honestly.. Its not that hard to tell. No prophet was ever perfect
except Christ, (and some might even argue that) but he rest of us will
only suffer for ourselves.
