 Namaste, Hety and List,
So disappointed that the pictures didn't come through
the site for me. This is such an exciting subject for
study of kundalini. It is a motif the world over and
one of the reasons I made the statement that the
kundalini doesn't belong only to India. All over the
Americas the serpent occurs and in a similar context.
Another part of the motif that occurs often in
conjunction with Kundalini is in the placement of the
hands. The left hand is always held palm up and the
right hand outward. This is the position of the boon
giving, fear dispelling hand positioning seen so often
in statues around the world. I wish I had a link to
share with you on this point. But the Mayan Maize God
assumes this position.
It is a part of the pursuit and knowledge of the
kundalini that is so fascinating. We think only the
East saved this tradition for us. And that is not
totally true, but we didn't really get the message
from the rest of the world. For me this awareness was
one of those things that sleeps in the back of the
mind, like the slumbering kundalini, itself.
I have no formal training and began to channel
kundalini at an early age. I channelled the energy
intuitively in healings, but noted that I repeated
hand placements. One most often repeated was this one.
I realized I was holding my hands in this position and
knew that when channeling healing energy, I recieved
the flow through my upturned left palm and was sending
the healing through the right hand. The why of how it
operates dogged me so. Then, one day I made the leap
and remembered seeing this in my studies of
comparative mythology. It is a world motif and
connected with the serpent.

What plagues me now is for me personally it was
"given" behavior in administering the flow. Does this
mean it was likewise given to all these medicine
people or is there a further historical thread to be
traced back? Blessings, Acara
