Hiya List!, Pierre: I am presently reading a very intersting book called "Living with Our Genes" by Dean Hamer and Peter Copeland. You said "I sometimes go through phases where I feel a sense of anxiety or fear not caused by anything external" ... the book explains that each one of us has "a set point for happiness just as the body has a set point for weight". We all have a gene that produces the serotonin transporter, which is like natural prozac. The thing is that the gene makes different amounts of serotonin transporter, around 1/3rd of the population possesses the longer copy and the remaining 2/3rds have the shorter gene, so the shorter gene is dominent, the gene that the serotonin transporter is least present. It is all inside, in your genes that determine this... it's not a solution but perhaps a reason for your anxiety. I hope I have helped a little... I've never had clutching of the heart, but a feeling of deep stabbing pains all over my back (probably blocks that need to be cleared)... does this happen to anyone often, it seems I am forever getting blocks.. when I have attempted to clear one more show up.
