Hello Grim Stranger -

I am wondering if you meditate? Or if you don't do anything 'formal'
if you pay attention to your breathing? My own K has been just really
all over the place for the past 2 months or so - quicksilver
tearfulness at times, bigtime burning and tingling when I least
expect, amazingly powerful things that are stronger now than I recall
in the past decades, and I have been sloppy with it - and one thing
that keeps coming back to me is how much better things are when I am
mindful throughout the day. For me, that includes some sitting, some
walking, attending to breathing, being gentle to myself.

I was concerned when you mentioned that you were feeling guilty for
getting mad, and sinning, and also feeling weak. And maybe you could
be more gentle with yourself? You are a creation of the Divine, you
know that? Anger is part of being human, we all feel it from time to
time... And I'm not sure if guilt is necessary? You are entitled to
own your feelings, and to knowing that they are real, and that they
will arise and then dissipate. Meditation is helpful in recognizing
that. And even without a formal meditation practice, perhaps just
setting aside 5 or 10 minutes several times a day, where you can
check in with your breathing and your body might help, especially
with the active K? There are some great resources out there on the
web for this sort of thing, and I'm sure others on this list could
offer some as well.

Another thing that I find helpful is walking meditation or just plain
walking. Others have written about that here recently. I do 4-5 miles
a day several days a week, in pretty much all weather outside;
started doing this consistently back in 1995. I find that it has
amazing 'curative' powers, imo, both physical and emotional. Do it
alone or with a partner; daytime or nighttime (great for star
gazing); take along a camera, or else not. The possibilities are
endless and it's free! No hi-tech gear (unless you choose so). You
can focus on your breathing as well while walking.

Now, about this IQ stuff. It's not the number that has any importance
and if you need to stroke that ego in a relatively benign manner, go
join Mensa (I think you make their cutoff) if that would interest
you... But to me, it is NOT the number but the person; there are so
many exceedingly bright people who have no compassion, you know? No
humility... No human kindness. There are intellectual avenues for
growth, as you know, but you are also spiritually aware and engaged
with your kundalini - both of which are far more valuable and useful
than numbers on a test.

in peace,
rita

among others). Well the latest news for me is, I'm not sure what, but
something really screwed up happened to me recently. My mother, who's
a genius and has an IQ of way above 160-170(average intelligence is
90-110, superior intelligence is 110 to 125, 125 to 140 is very
superior intelligence, and 140 and above is genius, FYI) told me that
my IQ(135) is good but I can do better. I took an Internet IQ test
(actually a few of them) recently and my average score was 135. I got
upset and left the room. I went to my room and thought for a second.
A million things crossed my mind(including my search for Kundalini),
and I got mad and remembered that I could make my back heat up the
most when I was angry and was hoping that something would happen,
like maybe this cut on my finger would heal, or maybe my headache
would go away(it got worse), and I had several more unfair
expectations of what I wanted to happen(which also went against
everyone's advice to work WITH it, sorry), and suddenly my head
started pounding and I was filled with intense rage. <snip>
