May I welcome you to the list that is one in the Light with you...
we just jam in all the realms all the time...complexity...diversity...
individual beautiful shining stars, aren't we all?

...anyway... back to the DevineDeep...
this little lesson of love came to me from the bounty of sandy shores...
while I sojourned at the Atlantic ocean this past August
for one precious week in the loving bosom of the sea...

?BROKEN ONES DON'T COUNT

I am walking the beach on one of my shell hunting trips. I also find
seagull feathers. This time, I bend down to pick up a tiny white
feather. I realize it is broken on the base end and drop it back down.

Suddenly I hear that voice of guilt say to me, "Pick it back up."

Excuse me?

 "Pick it back up."

I bend back down mumbling in my head as I bend, " But it's broken."

"Pick it back up."

I get in the last word. "All right, I'll pick it up, but it's still broken.
Broken ones don't count."

I stop and gasp as I realize what I have just said. So much for the last
word. The last stupid word. Listen to what I just said. Broken ones
don't count. Because I felt that way I was willing to leave this feather
on the beach, surely to be crushed, as small as it was. It makes me
think of what used to be my attitude towards the criminals on death
row. So, they are broken somehow. Broken ones don't count. Kill
them. In fact, broken ones are an eyesore. Kill them.

Another quote from Elisabeth Kubler crosses my mind, as she
recounts her conclusions about life as she ages and faces death
herself:

..."There were no guarantees in life except that everyone
faces struggles. It is how we learn. Some face struggle
from the moment they are born. They are the most special
of all people, requiring the most care and compassion and
reminding us that love is the sole purpose of life."

Each of us forms the precious part of the whole that cries for justice.
That includes the lost and the damned. They are also children of the
circle.
