I wonder about this myself sometimes. Accepting of course, that I
don't think my ego is the bad guy, just my attachment to my ego. Or
is that attachment coming from my ego? *scratches head* If we didn't
have egos, wouldn't we all just be sitting on our asses blissing out
and not doing anything? Sounds like fun for a while but kinda, well,
dull for a long time. I think my ego's problem is that I'm too
scared, and reactive and attached to what people think of me. I don't
think there's anything wrong with me wanting stuff, the problem is
that I want that stuff to drive away fear and lack. Now is the ego
the part of me that wants stuff, or the part that fears not having
stuff? If, as another list member pointed out, the ego is just a fun
mask that we wear for kicks, isn't there a beauty to wearing that
mask? Provided I remember that it is just a mask? And that I don't
get attached to the mask? Or, perhaps I am unnesscarily rewakening
the ego thread. Perhaps there is beauty in all of it, and I'm just
too scared to see it. Loving everything is scary.
