Subject: [K-list] America the Ugly?

There is ugliness to overly industrialized areas, true.
But there are still many beautiful places in our land.
I happen to live in one of them... it's called Maine.
I hear that Colorado is also stunningly beautiful.

Mom and I grew up around the Atlanta area and I saw a
lot of rushing and pollution and tall business structures
and traffic jams and airplanes. Here in Maine, Portland
is probably the largest city, and I don't know if I've
ever really seen it.

But most places you go are just saturated with the most
beautiful trees and flowers and bushes. The sky is the
highest and bluest I've ever seen! There's wildlife
here (and even cows! *giggle* inside joke) and a
concern for the natural beauty of the state. When it
snows, it seems like all noise stops and peace covers
the earth. The snow will be coming soon and I can't
wait. I wish so much that Mom could live here... she
taught me love of nature and animals and autumn and
snow. The beauty is there if you look.
