Possibly. Though I tend to believe it's more the quality of the light
(energy) that stimualtes the pineal gland rather than the quantity.

In the practice of kriya yoga, we learn to use prana to stimulate the pineal
gland. However this does not explain the greater number of spontaneous
awakenings.
I have seen a number of possible causes for this on the K-list: the rising
harmonics of the Schuman resonance, the approaching age of Aquarius, (insert
your favorite reason here)

My personal believe is that (some) human beings are becoming wiser by simply
paying attention to what is going on around them. With this simple Zen
practice they have determined that what they see is not what they wish to
create and so their higher selves kick in to correct the imbalance.

Of course we could all just be delusional or under the influence of some
annoying government mind control device created to make us waste our time in
esoteric pursuits while the "Truly Enlightened Ones" are fattening their bank
accounts.

My cynicism is really coming out today. Thanks for putting up with me.
