I can totally relate.

I have been working on exactly the same exasperating habit cycle.

I love the wheel of the year. I taught Wicca classes for many years
and astrology. The wheel is based on astrological rhythms.
Specifically the rhythms of the sun, moon and earth.

I have been struggling with the desire to be surrounded by beauty. I
have always been a very visual artist. I cannot for the life of me
understand why anyone would create a big ugly building, and yet there
are so many of them.

Why does so much, money, time, energy and material go into creating
ugliness?

There are so many creative people. So many people with good ideas
about making things beautiful. Of course all their ideas are
different. So what? Everyone would learn from each other if we were
all encouraged to create. Instead we are ridiculed, labeled
as "strange" and are told that what we do is of no value.

Creation is divine. By being creative we are being of service to
God/dess in a very direct way. Everything nature makes that is whole
and healthy is beautiful, grotesque sometimes, but nonetheless
incredibly well designed.

Seriously, we Americans must live in the ugliest country that ever
existed. No wonder everyone is so depressed.
