Gratitude. Feeling bad. What about evil in the world? What is all this?

I came upon myself with a smile on my face today, in the middle of feeling
miserable from a cold and having a headache and upset stomach and no energy
to get up off the couch.

The word gratitude occurred to me, and I asked myself what I felt grateful
for.

I found that I was grateful that i *have* a stomach that can be upset, that
I *have* a respiratory system that can be clogged by the effects of viral
residents. That I've been given the gift of life with all its ups and
crappy downs.

Grateful that I have 5 (6? more?) senses that can experience this amazing
world of duality and paradox.

What's the alternative?

God is unity, allness, universalness. No duality. Ever. Eternally.

No wonder the creator created the universe. What could be more boring than
an eternity of unity? Like homogenous milk...

Life as we know it gives Creator the opportunity to experience something
outside of unity. Through us. Through our judgements and evaluations. Spicy.

Maybe we strive to achieve consciousness and experience of that unity
because it is a return to a "natural" state. We find peace and comfort in a
return to origins.

But the real blessing is duality and appreciation of it. The giving of our
experience of it to Creator.

And what about evil? The Saddam Husseins and the Osama Bin Ladins?

Do you think God could not Love part of Himself? Part of His own
Creation? Do you suppose those people are somehow not a part of God?

I don't think so. It's just another experience in this mysterious world of
everything and nothing.

Guess what! I feel better.
