Greetings,

On herbs;

Certain herbs have an energizing effect on the ida and/or pingala nadis
surrounding the spine. Each herb has varying effects on these two channels.
It's very difficult to obtain information on this subject with specific
regard to kundalini, but it is out there.

There are said to be herbs that act directly on the sushumna itself (pathway
of the kundalini energy, which is the combined ida and pingala principals).
These herbs apparently are dangerous because of their unpredictability. The
control of the individual would have to be very developed to withstand the
side effects.

With regular meditation and pranayama, it is said that using the herbs to
help the flow of the ida and pingala is acceptable and relatively safe. Once
the two pathways have been sufficiently filled the bandhas (energy locks)
can be applied and one can attempt to overflow the energies into the
sushumna for raising the kundalini.

If it is of interest to anyone I'll do my best to find my notes on these
specific herbs, as I don't have them readily available.

Cesar,
I understand what you are saying. Too much concentration on
controlling externals is a waste of energy and feeds ego. However it
seems to me that Kundalini is a dance of spirit, mind and matter.
Internal growth and external learning work together.

It is about learning - not controlling. Exploring herbs, diet etc..
can be a way of expanding consciousness by being humble enough to try
doing things in a different way than what you have always done.
