about, your post about the tummo got me to thinking about this but I

I belong to a small group of recovered addicts, we try to meet
monthly we've been together since 1999. In the last 6 months
three babies have been born to members of our group, two are
twins, a boy and a girl. Although the mother has been clean for
years the twins seem to have the same type of symptoms that
drug affected babies would have. The group has been helping
with the twins, both parents are back to work, at least for now,
they did not know they were having twins and are having to
play catch up.
The reason I am writing is because I noticed that when I hold
the boy I often feel an exchange between us that is.. interesting.
He seems to need to be in a low stimulus environment. He is
happiest in an undecorated, dim room with little or no noise. I
put pillows behind my lower back to recline and place him on
my stomach. His breathing will slow a little as we both relax, I feel
his heart beating against my stomach. His heartbeat does not
change, but his breathing does. The exchange creates a warming ball
below my belly button that will grow then rise up and disappear. Then
after a few breaths the ball begins to grow and rise again. This
happens over and over even after he has fallen to sleep. I fall
asleep too most of the time.
I have had children myself, and I have cradled all of them this
same way, but never have I experienced this ball with any of
them. It does not happen with his sister.
I was wondering if any one has an explanation for this.
Has anyone here work with drug affected babies?
He has not been exposed to drugs, but do we really know if
there are consequences for babies of moms or dads who have
been addicts, their mom and dad both had been smoking meth
for more than 2 years before quitting.
Of course I have no way of knowing what he is feeling, except
he sleeps soundly when I return him to his bed so I do not think
it hurts him.
For all I know, he could be healing me! It is a really nice feeling.
