I've had experiences similar to this. I often find myself in trance
conversation with Other (or Bigger!) while the "me" part of me
watches, usually about decision points. Most of the time I don't
remember the details, except that I have decided things like, not to
die, to take on some task, teach, etc. I often also have body pains
while in trance states. One thing I do with pain now is to go into
it. It widens and broadens and often disappears while I go into
another deeper level, either of body awareness or spiritual (not
really that different!). Something to try if you feel like it next
time!
