Subject: [K-list] Evolution/Mass Extinction

   Noticed an article in mainstream press yesterday concerning some
12,000 species currently endangered and ,evidently, slated for rapid
extinction. Mass extinction is thought to have preceeded many of the
great evolutionary leaps, but how humanity will adapt to the current
situation is rather an open question. Not to be an alarmist, but it
seems (to me) that if we, as a species, continue with our present
behavior, we will very soon find ourselves in a physical environment
that is no longer able to support us. In short- we're doomed, at least
in terms of the current scenario. I hear occasional rumblings about how
we might overcome these difficulties using science- space colonization,
or some sort of high- end genetic modifications. Sounds, at times, like
more of the disease, rather than an actual cure for the problem.
   Can spiritual development help us to evolve physically, and fast
enough to adapt to the cataclysmic changes of the next (very) few years?
Or... is the human race rapidly approaching the end of physical,
earthbound existence? Might this be the last time we squeeze into these
hairy meat-suits to feast on oxygen, carbohydrates and cappuccinos?
Could that be why it seems so many people are in such a frenzy to
consume, in such a gluttonous piglike manner? With seemingly no regard
for the future of the planet? Like- it's all over, might as well just
gorge yerself on all the "gusto" you can get.
   Heh. Gaia is wise, and may have all manner of tricks up her sleeve.
I'm just curious, and of course, without any real clues. Any ideas,
thoughts, predictions? Anybody with direct contact with Pleiadians,
spacebrothers, Pa, etc., concerning our impending doom?
