Well put Holly. Since the effort to detach itself is a
product of the ego, one needs to reflect on where the
ego-notion arises.

Surrender, non-resistance, being watchful, witnessing,
are all meant to transcend the ego by seeing through
it. Gradually the grip is loosened.
