an interesting book: The Gospel According to Jesus, by Jewish Zen-Buddhist
author Stephen Mitchell. Like Thomas Jefferson, he believes there are 2
versions of Jesus in the New Testament: the enlightened, all-about-love Jesus
whose teachings synch-up with the Buddha's (the true version, he posits),
versus the hellfire and damnation Jesus created by unenlightened Christian
followers.
