Subject: [K-list] Descent of Kulkulan, A Mayan Pyramid

On 2002/08/23 15:36, aseaman40 posted thus to the K-list: Having visited this historical site several years ago I am familar
with the story of the Pyramid of Kukulcan, which displays a shadow
of the afternoon light beyond belief. This pyramid is located in the
Yucatan penisula and is one of the most frequented archeological
attractions for tourists.

Mostly referred to as the ancient Mayan City of Chitchen Itza, it has
two large serpent heads of concrete at the base of both sides of the
staircase on the western face of the pyramid. On the spring and
autumn equinoxes(March 21 and September 21)in the afternoon the
shadow produced resembles an undulating or spiraling snake. In March
it appears to be descending to the base of the pyramid terminating at
the huge head of the snake. In September the image of the snake
climbs to the top of the pyramid.

What I find amazing is that the Mayans had the astronomical and
mathematical knowledge in their time to build such a fascinating
natural phenomomenal work of art!

Could they have been showing homage to the same energy of life we
refer to as Kudalini? Food for thought.
