Christians go about this by saying grace over their meals, though perhaps the
ritual has lost some of it's original meaning now. I don't know if other
religions have similar practices, perhaps someone would care to fill me in if
 they know.

I was a vegetarian for a long time, for both for health and spiritual
reasons. I didn't get much healthier and I didn't feel much more spiritual.
Then one day I discovered that just because I killed plants to eat instead of
animals, it did not make me immune to the karma of killing to eat. The only
thing that can make someone immune to any kind of karma is unconditional
love....for all beings.

Please don't think I'm trying to dissuade anyone from being a vegetarian. I
AM NOT judging your path, only relating mine. All I am saying is (as
usual)...Be Aware and...
