My own awakening was spontaneous, as were quite a few others on the list.

Beforehand, I had never given a lot of thought to any religion. I was
basically raised as a Christian, but I could count the number of times I had
been to church on one hand. I always had a fascination with psychic
phenomena, UFO's, Bigfoot, ESP, telekenesis, stonehenge....the list goes on
obscenely.

I think there are going to be LOT of people waking up spontaneously in the
near future.
