Hmm-maybe try turning your anger into sadness first. You'd have to look at it
differently. See the sadness behind the fast pace, behind the lack of
enjoyment. Driving a car through heavy traffic, in some ways, is a far from
natural as you can get. On the other hand-us humans have learned to get
around have to hunt and search for our food. We have gotten around having to
defend our selves in more tribal forms. In a way the dangers of the moment
are like the dangers of the past.

It's hard now adays to forget the beauty of nature. An adventure from the
city, into the woods can be very fulfilling. Sadly, many people still only
see a tree as material, for a table, or a chair for example. At one time, not
too long ago, the appreciation of nature wasn't even half of what it is
today. People are have had to live in pollution-have had to lose that beauty
before they could see it for what it was for. So cites do have their purpose.

You see everyone driving around to get where they'd like to go. Then you
realize their jobs are trying to fulfill a bank account rather their souls.
That's just the way money works I suppose. Like pollution-except it can be
difficult to see what you are missing when you have a cool million in the
pocket.

The absurdity of human life is wonderful like that, but we all have ends to
meet. Have patience-driving can teach us this. Put positive energy into your
life all around-these little dark areas need it more than any where else. You said:
"Whenever I drive here in the Boston area (I used to be a taxi driver
here many years ago and probably acquired a bad attitude), someone
invariably does something to really piss me off and upset my peace. "

This is your block. You built the wall your self. Maybe it is only something
you are "noticing", but understand the more you focus on it-the more energy
you give it, the more the situation will grow. It is good to be aware of the
danger of driving. Shouldn't shy away from that. Its also good to be aware of
the good drivers. You certainly couldn't be the only "good" driver, correct?
Another thing to look at is why these people are making you angry. You are
the one giving them that kind of control over you. Also-think about karma,
why is all of this coming back to you? The city is a tough place to live in
because its so easy to be negative there. The trash, the litter, the people
you don't understand enough to like ect.

Try to imagine your self looking through the heart chakra. Imagine connecting
your eyes to that center, and just breath it and believe it. All in all, you
are in control of what you feel. Take responsibility for that anger first,
then you can change it.
