Every poem has it's editorial.. This one I wrote as a challenge, from a
co-worker who was asserting that good poetry has to be written by wierd
people in a trance or something...

I told him to give me subject.. and I'd have a poem for him when he got back
from lunch..
We were talking about reality being only a perception etc... so that was
his topic.

So I wrote this in about 30 minutes... had it ready when he came back.Dream Of Reality

Dreams and visions seen in youth;
Reached for things like stars;
Evolving from a quest for truth,
And searching; finding ours.
Many "failures" turn to "wins."
Faith is learned by test.
Inspiration wont come in
Removed from effort best.
Sent messages and warnings come:
Tempestous dream filled nights.
Reality is more to ones
Experience in the light.
A man is happy only when
Life is as it seems.
It is on knowledge we depend
To realize our dreams.
Yesterday's distortions
Fine times as well as bad:
Often are contortions
Like the "futures" we have had.
Let a man rembember this:
Our God is what is real.
When our vision matches his
Somehow, it's joy we feel.
