RK ,

Just checking in to verify you are speaking metaphorically in some way. It
is impossible to "merge ida & pingala... into Sushumna" nadi. It would be
like merging the right and left arm to make a body.

It is essential to balance ida and pingala in working with K but they still
exist, not just in people who raise K but in realized (enlightened)
individuals. Were they not there there would be no purpose for alternate
nostral breathing (ANB) that is easiest way to balance them unless you've
mastered that internally. I've seen realized individuals do ANB and also
manipulate ida and pingala to give them more energy or speed digestion and
the like.
