Hi GoldenYawn,
As frightening as it may sound, hysterical screams are often heard during
the projection process. More commonly when the projecter is inexperienced
and phases through the etheric plane. The etheric plane is the binding arena
between the physical and astral, and is component to both.

The shifting of body parts isnt as common place but not unheard of. My
second OBE involved my legs diving upwards followed by my arms.

The flying of small objects is more associated with excess personal energy.
The connection here is that excess personal energy is ideal for a good OBE.

I would advise keeping up with meditation so you can learn the focus
required to put a leash on these unwanted side effects (or develope them if
you'd prefer). Theres nothing you need to be scared of.

If you look into learning and understanding OBEs and what you can do with
them you'll find a whole new world layed out before you. Explore :)

Hello. This is my first post. Let me begin by saying I have a
question, but first, some background. Back about a year ago, I was
looking for something relaxing to do that was also interesting
online, and I came upon what I saw as a derivative of
meditation; that being oobe or astral projection. I went at it as
prescribed in various online documentation for about a week or so,
when upon one attempt I was feeling the assumed effects, extreme
relaxation, paralysis, very strong and warm vibrations through my
whole body, a feeling that my feet were being gripped and pulled
downward toward the end of the bed, and so on, until a very strong
pressure developed in my forehead, and a feeling that my face was
being pulled forward by some unseen force. After this sensation
persisted for a few minutes, there was the feeling of an explosion in
my forehead accompanied by a loud boom, release of pressure, and
audible screams. I then found myself suspended in empty, open grey-
white space.

I arose from this experience and have not tried meditation or other
similar methods since. Now, and ever since this experience, I cannot
fall asleep lying on my back, I must be laying on my side. (I never
had problems sleeping on my back before.) If I do attempt to fall
asleep on my back, I feel what I assume is energizing of my third-eye
chakra, and a sense of dissociation. If I try to ignore it and learn
to just fall asleep on my back again (I try from time to time),
different events occur. Sometimes an arm or leg will jump up
unexpectedly, or I'll experience rather vivid imagery in a strong
flash, sometimes with auditory input, and it will jolt me enough that
I awake. So this bothers me for sleeping purposes. Apart from
sleeping, I also find it very easy to "focus" on this feeling around
my forehead and above my nose...but I don't take this practice up
really because I'm not sure of what the effects might be.

I might also mention that in immediate proximity to my experience,
and what really stopped my investigation of astral projection, were
two main phenomena: loud noises and flying pieces of paper. The loud
noises resembled an aluminum chair being hit or dropped, and the
pieces of paper would just inexplicably flip or become airborne and
drift across the room. I would have thought I was crazy but this
happened in the presence of witnesses. This activity subsided over
the next weeks.

Searching on the net for possible explanations, the closest I could
find was Kundalini. Hmm. So I think that is my question. Is this
Kundalini, or just different, assorted and related phenomena related
to astral projection?

Thank you all very much,
