Subject: [K-list] David's Movie Recommendation:

'Pi'

I'll eat my hat if most folks on this list don't get something
of value out of this film.
(or at the very least, raw, unadulterated entertainment)

A low budget flick...

Then it hit me.

Most major motion pictures
completely suck because
so much money is invested into the project
that in order to recover the gigantic return required
to cover the gigantic input invested...

the movie must appeal to gigantic *quantities*.

That's the mainstream folks...

Bland, uninspiring and
incredibly numerous...

In studying biology
an important question was asked of us:
"Why are we multi-cellular organisms and simply not one big, giant cell?"

The answer is:
because at some point,
the laws of physics
set in
and a single cell
becomes so large
that it caves in on itself.

(there's a lot of wisdom in that answer regarding who knows how many levels)

And it occurred to me,
'Batman (fill in the blank, ridiculously high number)'
was completely horrible and could only entertain
the most dullest of minds.

Why...?

Because some genius'
in high places
decided it was worth
spending billions to make and market it...

I may be completely insane for suggesting
something as asinine as what I am about to suggest but...

what if the world agreed to be 'deprived' of such
mediocre crap
and instead
with these otherwise impotent resources,

we fed a few million or so
of our starving and sick
brothers and sisters?

Am I completely nuts?
(or what)
