All:

Hi there! I first want to thank everyone who replied to my post a few weeks ago where i gave my lengthy intro asking about whether or not my experiences were indeed indicative of K awakening. It was nice to finally jump into the fray as they say.

I just wanted to chime in on the discussion about “How to Surrender.” I really can relate to this seemingly “abstract” concept. I never really understood it myself until fairly recently. But interestingly enough, my direction of late seems to be leading me down this very path of surrender. Much of what I´ve been reading (on-list and off) and experiencing all seems to point to the absolute necessity of surrender.

And yet, the concept of surrender is so simple that we often have difficulty doing it. I have also found that Western society´s acculturation process ingrains within us a need to “win,” and “succeed,” and to be “right.” It also tends to instill a fear of “failure.” These deep-seated “needs” tend to make the idea of surrender very anathema and almost verboten. (Who me? I´M no loser!!) Someone once said that the key to surrender is this: “Just let whatever happens be okay.” Easier said than done. But K really has a way of giving me plenty of opportunity to practice. And of course, that what we need to do most is often what we feel least inclined to do.

One thing I´ve found to be very helpful in really grasping the idea of surrender is something called “The Sedona Method.” It´s an extremely simple yet effective technique/method to “release” (or surrender if you prefer) unwanted feelings or emotions. I´ve found it to be VERY beneficial in helping me surrender “my stuff” as K brings it to the surface.

The course teaches that we are all born knowing how to release and surrender and that many of us forget how to do it as we grow older. Just look to children and see how they easily and inherently know how to “let go.” One minute they´re wailing, railing, and crying over something that seems like it´s the end of the world. The next minute they´re laughing and playing without a care in the world. How do they do it? They are simply born knowing how to “let it go.” They know (as proposed by Mystress) that surrender is truly something worth mastering.

I don´t want sound like a shill or a pitch man for The Sedona Method, but I thought that those on the list that are having trouble with surrender might find it helpful. (I´m in no way affiliated with the company.) It really is a wonderful thing and well worth the investment. The method is not taught from a spiritual standpoint, but the guy who developed it (Lester Levenson) had a spiritual awakening (and probably a K awakening from what I´ve read of his life story). You can find out more about The Sedona Method at http://www.sedona.com
