Dear Gregor,

Well, I consider it a good thing. Even most of those in pain say they
wouldn't return to pre K days. Krishnamurti certainly suffered a good deal
of pain. Once when asked "Since you have such pain, why don't you consult
some doctors?" He is said to respond, "It is not pain. It is an
inexplicable joy." [from *Leaves From a Diary* by Leena Sarabhai.

isn't stuck there, judging from the fact it previously rose out through the
top of your head. :))

 >If I experience pain in my body for the K energy, does that not mean I am
doing myself harm?

Pain from Kundalini energy usually is a transitory thing. Most people once
they surrender find that the pain lessens, or goes away in time. Others tend
to gradually get used to it or even translate it into simply sensation
without giving it the name "pain." It is usually caused, IMO, by fear of the
energy or undue anxiety about what the energy is "doing" to them. Your fears
of having done something wrong (ie earplugs) and fear of a broken chakra have
caused you undue worry. Try to relax and see the energy as a positive
thing--that it is working to clear blockages (those emotional releases you
spoke about, etc.).

>Why is my K energy so firery?

Gopi Krishna (see his book *Living with Kundalini*) also had trouble with
this heat. As I remember from the book, he redirected the energy into
different pathways. You might want to visualize the energy as cooling. But
be careful, because the energy can be chilling as well as burning. :))
Some see the heat as a curative thing--burning away blocks in the system.

>A Rieke person said my base chakra was broken. How can I fix it?

This sounds rather irresponsible of this reiki person. Chakras don't get
broken. They are simply centers where the energy tends to congregate. There
are many exercises that are helpful in moving the energy. Other people on
this list can give you better pointers with this than I can. I especially
recommend Angelique's grounding page:
