I was thinking about this exact same idea yesterday. My take on it
is that we have a universal mind in our subconcious that connects
every living being. The information that goes through this
conciousness is not linear as our perception is. I think this would
explain things like schizophrenia and people hearing voices, that it
really is people being sensitive to things that are in this
conciousness.

A good example of this is in the move Waking Life; there is a part in
the movie where they talk about an experiment of isolated people
doing crossword puzzles, they monitored their scores. One time they
would give the people a crossword puzzle that was a day old and they
scored 20% better. (It's cool movie by the way, you should rent it)

The idea is that, subconciously to some degree, people think the same
things.
