311 by far is the biggest promoter of psychic awareness that i have come
across in music. the 'Transistor' album has some of the most thought
provoking lyrics that i've ever heard, and most of the album is dedicated to
philisophical / spiritual topics. it's also (IMO) their best album from an
experimental and melodic standpoint. here's an excerpt from a song on
Transistor called 'Electricity' :

The same force that flows through every circuit
the juice that's spent every time you work it
every life form is based on this simplicity
the soul you have is electricity

You can't avoid that
evolution is fact
we're all from the same Lucy
despite differences you see
