Dear Laura

> From: "Laura" <dafmobileATnospamhotmail.com>

I have managed the kundalini awakening and the resulting complexities over the years
and the following account, incorporates the elements which I used for managing them

You have native emotion. And, you have developed more-than-sufficient reason.
Now, you have to,-
1 redefine your emotion into psychic love and
2 redefine your ordinary reason into pure reason
I would recommend 'Synthesis of Yoga' a spiritual masterpiece by Sri Aurobindo.
You can buy it or can even Free download from websites.

Thanks and kind regards
RK Shankar

> I know that mental illness has been a topic on the k-list repeatedly
> personal experiential wisdom of folks who have managed or healed it
> any feminist, k-based, or non-western consciousness explanations
> any warnings, book lists, website links, non-drug approaches

This shows that your ordinary reason is well-developed.
You have deployed it very well to relate with this e-group.
Reason and its reasonable deployment, denote good mental health.

> first of all, I don't believe that it is an illness per se

This belief stems from your emotive involved reason.
This shows that you have a good blending of emotion and reason.
You have expressed your emotive reason very well to the e-group.
Emotive reason and its reasonable expression, denote good mental health.

> I am emotionally volatile most of the time followed by periods of existential nihilism
> I become greatly apologetic to those whom I love
> human duality consciousness is to experience both the light and the dark,
> women are more affected by emotional volatility than men,
> cycles of the rhythm of oppression and release were formed through our younger years
> it is honest unfiltered emotion releasing itself from unsociability
> cleaning itself and me of negativity releasing me into peace
> DEFINITELY debilitating and certainly life threatening,
> if I can weather them it will heal itself
> without drugging myself, I am psychically/physically allergic to drugs or
> I let it run its course without succumbing to its volatile aspect
> I can't seek the help of psych folks
> psych folks are satisified that standard psych definitions are true and adequate
> psych folks are pretty unvoyaged in their own consciousness
> don't think about it from any other angles
> they will try to medicate me
> I respond well to emotional support from people I trust

The above statements indicate your good understanding of your own mental state.
This indicates a separation of awareness from the mental consciousness of which it is aware.
This means that you are going through the difficult years of your spiritual awakening.

You are also well aware of the way the human consciousness functions.
Also, you have a good insight that tells you that women somehow are different from men.
You are aware also of the intricacies of the emotional outbursts that you experience.

Actually, you are good in socialising with people and you do understand them quite well.
In addition, you enjoy interacting with the group and evoking appropriate responses.
This is clear from your being able to identify trustworthy people and responding to their support.
You have abundant concern for the people around and abundant love for the beloved ones.

Your unsociable feeling stems from your disgust for the mediocrity of the group-mind.
This is clear from your description of the mode of operation of the psych folks.
The force of your disgust for the mediocrity of the majority gets blended into your emotional outburst.

> Is the emotional outburst karma related?

Yes. Because emotional outburst indicates that you are unable to balance the reaction to the
manifesting subconscious impressions through your conscious mind.
And, subconscious is the storehouse of impressions of your past actions, which constitute karma.> Is there a positive use for the storm episodes that attack me

You know it is yes. And, it is yes. Because, the storm clearly manifests the triad. The triad of
1 the subconscious impressions,
2 you, the individual ego seeing it as apart,
3 in a relationship of seeing.
Such manifestation will take place, as long as you have not observed, and resolved them by the energy of your undivided attention.
This is the utility of the emotional outburst so that you can observe the manifesting sense-impression,
energetically attend to it without reaction, and resolve it in the light of your understanding.

If you react to the subconscious impression without observing, that reaction will create another impression.
And, aggravate the force of the ignorant reaction over a period of time, as already experienced by you.
This reaction also represses the original sense-impression which will remanifest until actually resolved.

But, an impression resolved by attention merges into the substance of the subconscious.
And, that wiil glow through the conscious mind and lend vitality to you.

> Is the faith in the utility of the emotional outburst true or the crisis in faith of its utility true or is neither true ?

Faith in the utility of the emotional outburst, is true.
Because, the utility of the ourburst is a fact as explained above, and all truth in manifestation is a 'force of being'.
That force of the truth-being manifests in yourself, as the native 'faith of being' in the utility of the emotional outburst.

And, the crisis in the faith of the utility of the emotional outburst, is also true.
Because, the crisis in the faith (spiritual skepticism) is the force of the truth-being
demanding you to realise the utility of the emotional outburst
(by attending to the emotional outburst closely without involvement and consequent reaction,
resolving permanently the sense-impression causing it and merging it back into the substance of the subconscious, and
realising the power of the lightened subconscious penetrating and shining through the conscious).

> emotional volatility followed by periods of existential nihilism

The essential points of nihilism are revolt against tradition and society,
meaninglessness of existence, lack of objective ground for moral truths,
desirability of destruction and organisation of smaller groups to root out the perverted society

You will have to confine all revolts to self-reform only.
That will give you better insight to effect social reforms.

Meaning of moral truths and of customs ruling the society
have to be sought out in their substratum of evolutionary forces only.
One has to comprehend the fast individual revolution and the slow group evolution.
Together, they constitute the evolutionary forces of the group as a whole.
Only thus, the society can be the ground for the speedy evolution of the individual.
When an individual is enmeshed in the group, he is feeding on it.
All group is unconsciously forcing the individual to disengage himself
from involution in the group-mind and provide nourishment to the group.

The problems of the group instinctive mind can be understood and resolved
only by raising the individual consciousness above the instinctive level.
That is by stationing the awareness in the heart and throat chakras.
For this, the opening to the lower 7 nether region chakras have to be closed
ruling out any future possibility of involution in the instinctive existence.
The earth chakra, the subconscious base, has to be resolved.
The water chakra, the conscious covering, has to be quieted.
And, the will chakra's lower petal has to be reversed and merged with the upper petal,
so that the Will is engaged only in upward spiritual pursuits.

And, all emotions have to be transformed into direct cognition and universal love of the heart and the throat chakras.
Just like when Lord Jesus reacted to the presence of shops inside the synagogue in Jerusalem

> women are more affected by emotional volatility than men,
Because, in women, the spiitual Ida nerve that is governing emotion is predominant
And in men, the spiritual pingala nerve that is governing intellect is predominant

> cycles of the rhythm of oppression and release were formed through our younger years
Yes! But, we are not bound by the formation or even the circumstances attendant upon the formation of our subconscious
Because, we can always reprogram our subconscious by our conscious attention and observation

> it is honest unfiltered emotion releasing itself from unsociability
This unsociability will be dissolved when you reprogram your subconscious appropriately

> that it is not the source of my creation somehow and should not be extracted since I am perfect as I am,
Your ego is a projection from the Self. And, your ego has created the subconscious.
By spiritual pursuits, your subconscious can be resolved and your ego can merge into the Self

> tend to aggravate and intensify over time,
This is so, only as long as you do not attend to the subconscious and resolve it

> if I can weather them it will heal itself
You can weather it by paying attention to it without getting involved and without reacting to it
Self-esteem is the greatest hindrance to attention and observation

> if I can't somehow mellow it out, I will decide not to have children
It will be completely resolved if you attend to it without reaction. No question of simply mellowing it down.

Child-birth has 3 elements.

1 The intermingling of human passion
This involves 2 people. One person's assertion has 50% validity only

2 The possbile material combination. Over this, one's assertion has 0% validity.
After the combination has occurred, one can physically interfere with it. And, that involves the difficult emotion of both.
One's assertion here will have, may be, even less than 50% validity,
depending upon the force resulting from the intermingling of the emotive forces of both

3 The entry of soul into the resulting 'child's body'.
This is entirely out of human control. One's assertion here has 0% validity.

God's Will can Force us to do even what appears to be within our free-will for a child's birth.
Because the birth of a soul in a human body is a spiritual necessity,
to which our actions are necessarily subjected by the Will of God.

Such statements are made out of one's habitually listening to them from the group-mind of the society.
Constant discrimination born of constant good association is a necessity for not imbibing these indiscriminatory outpourings.
And, this is the way of uprooting the ignorance of the group-mind of the society.

> this is the bodymind I have been created into and am stuck with
True! Your mind is stuck with your body.
But, your mind itself can be resolved completely by self-enquiry

> find adequate self-awareness, healing or support
Self-awareness is totally adequate and is the only solution.
Suggestions to self-awareness from others constitute the only support.
But, oneself has to be aware of oneself.
Others cannot help in self-awareness, except simply suggesting.
