From: Christopher Wynter

On 2002/06/27 19:02, Christopher Wynter posted thus to the K-list: What should also be considered here in reading Leadbeater ..

is his background and the audience to which he was addressing
his remarks.

There was a very great conflict between and within the Theosophical
Society and Krishnamurti - which caused some fragmentation in the
Theosophical Movement of the time and several fragmented and
opposing view points - all published - despite the existing bitterness -
through the same publishing house.

I am not disputing what is written here - or that CWL's work can provide
a valid perspective as an introduction to the theory behind Kundalini
from a Theist perspective ..

But .. remember, both Kundalini and Krishnamurti do not come from
a Theist perspective .. and her-in lies the trap for the unwary who
try to understand their experience relative to what they already
know about "Spirituality" - from the Western Perspective.

It is worthwhile noting that CG Jung was one of the first to recognise
that there is an interpolation between the Eastern and Western
perspective of both "spirituality", the "mind" and the "unconscious".

Jung also recognised that the Hindu concept which is translated into
the west as a deification was in fact, a Psychological Metaphor -
or what he termed "archetype".

When writing of experience, the tendency is to write in the language
of what is familiar .. and for most of Western Society with a Judeo
Christian Belief Infrastructure, this must be in terms of what they know
and in the language of whom they are communicating.

As the belief structure collapses, this language is gradually replaced
with a less stylised metaphor, and this often meets with derision from
those who are attached to their own learned or studied interpretation ..
in other words, what is written in the books ..
often by people who are long dead ..

Thus, each experience is valid for each person expressing their personal
experience at the time - in the only language and understanding they
have which is to the limit of their own individual conditioning.

Eventually, Kundalini will demolish all of the boundaries of
conditioning, and a much vaster picture will become clear
  and more easily understood ..

Then, the individual, being honest to the self-revealing-Self
will need to move beyond the boundaries of preconception
and the ideas of others already written in the language of
  the past ..

into something that is alive - and that individual will not care
whether what he or she writes is "Theologically" or
"Theosophically" correct - because that expression will be
  the "Living_expression_of_the_moment" beyond any need
for approval, acceptance, recognition or reaction ..
