Yeah. That's kinda been my thought on the whole thing. There have been too
many similarities of sensation and experience between K and the Pentecost
thang. I wonder how this squares with some saying that K and X-ianity are
irreconcilably different. Theologically perhaps but not necessarily from an
experiential standpoint, imho.

No harm in checking it out. But they generally aren't to keen on tolerating
different points of view. ;^) Best to just go and "Be the witness." Although
some churches have more "Holy Ghost" stuff going on than others. Some of the
wildest stuff i've seen took place in "Church of God in Christ" services.

It definitely is the same "power" in my estimation. So it is "high" in that
sense. I don't know if i'd call it "ignorant." Simplistic might be a better
word for it. The fundamentalist x-ian myth is VERY powerful and its the fuel
that fires the Pentecostal "k-like" experience. I like how Mystress talks
about surrender as being key to K. Pentecostals use surrender in a very
similar way. Except you surrender to Jesus & The Holy Ghost instead of
Shakti. They call it being "Baptised in the Holy Ghost" with the evidence
of speaking in other tongues. And its usually affected by prayer and the
laying on of hands (Shaktipat as Hillary noted). My pastor would often lay
hands on folk and shout, "LET IT GO!!!"

So it IS about surrender. It took me about a month or so of attending church
5x a week b4 i got the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. I realize now that it was
a matter of putting my intellect aside and allowing or surrendering to the
power. Thru these many experiences over those 6 years i learned to yield to
the Holy Ghost quite effectively. I think that's why it was easy for me to
have had such an intense Breathwork experience. Also, i wasn't afraid of
what was happening to me and that helped too. Sometimes people would get
scared in church and shut themselves off to the power. What i learned was to
allow myself to be a conduit to the energy. Invaluable stuff.

Funny thing about the Pentecostal experience is that they really have NO
means or methodology for teaching people how to cultivate or grow the
experience. It all has to happen as the Holy Ghost allows it to happen. No
real coaching or advice.

Feeling the nrg of Spirit was the best part of the thang. Don't get me
started on what i think of the dogma. LOL!!
