but if a human evolved from an ape-like creature, that is pretty much the
same idea. this is just another spin on the same theory - that humans
evolved from another creature, the closest one being to humans being an ape
or pre-ape.

it is still a confusing concept (evolution) considering that apes and humans
have lived in the same geographic environments. so geography may not solely
dictate how a creature evolves, it probably has more to do with
consciousness. i think of this reality as an experiment - first the
consciousness tried out dinosaurs (as a dominate specie), creating all
different types of forms from the dominate, big plant eaters - to the
faster, smaller (but with really big teeth!) meat eaters - and then the more
esoteric and fun experiments like body armor, spikes, poison ejectors,
bird-like creatures, and so on. then - all of a sudden, they are taken out.
completely. but other animals that were around with the dinos still had a
chance to evolve and survive (elephants and tigers are a couple). so it
seems to me this occurrence was almost planned out by consciousness. and
then the new experiments - this time with more complex intellects and a new
spin - self awareness and emotion.

 Evolutionary theory doesn't say that humans evolved
 from apes, but that humans and apes had a common
 ancestor, way before the appearance of homo sapiens
 sapiens (humans). That ancestor had at least two
 offspring. One offspring created the evolutionary chain
 that wound up human. The other offspring created the
 evolutionary chain that wound up ape. In human time,
 the split was a long, long time ago. In evolutionary
 time, not so long ago, which is why chimps and humans
 have such close DNA.
