Christopher,
The symbol I assume you refer to is the serpent? Symbols by definition
represent a concept or idea to help us understand it, because we cannot
assimulate the whole concept into our little minds. If you do not feel
comfortable with a symbol, change what it represents in your mind.
God/Goddess/Cosmic Energy, ect are all the same to me. If they don't feel
the same to you, then they don't.
