Hi,
Ah but knowing take all the fun out of it! no just kidding. I doubt there is
any answer to your question, but there are many interesting theories.

I personally believe in reincarnation, not only because it makes sense but
because of the large counts of people who recall past lives, partially or
completely. There was one case of a woman who recalled her entire past life
at the age of 6 or 7, and arranged a meeting with her former husband. At the
arranged meeting she wispered in his ear a reminder of their agreement he
would not remarry after her death. He had brought with him his new wife. He
only hung his head in shame. That's pretty hard to shake off as coinsidence.
Interesting no?

The emerald tablets of Thoth (ok, so its a little occult) speak of many
interesting things that kundalites have mentioned on the list involving past
lives or near death. The tablets speak of the power of mantras and word
vibrations at one point. It focuses mainly on 'the light within'.

It basically states after death there is a moment of peace or suspension
within a sphere, (to obsorb your recent life?) where all is as it should be.
There time is relative to you and has no meaning. After which you are pulled
back to earth into a new body where you still remember your entire past
life, for a short time, until your body is aged enough to start anew. I'm
guessing this is at birth when a child's body naturally flushes the brain
with the 'forgetting hormone'- you know the one doctors say is to make sure
the child doesnt remember the pain of birth?

Anyhoo. The tablets even tell of 2 mantras that I remember clearly. One was
to extend that moment of aetherial suspension so you could have time to move
about and learn in that state of existense. It says it lasts for half the
time of the arc of the sun or something to that affect. I suppose thats
like.. 6 hours. What do I know.

The other mantra was something to do with protecting your memories from
being swept away at birth. It spoke of holding your awareness in the third
eye and never letting it out, until your body is ready. Then nothing will be
forgotten. Lastly it tells of OBE's, and meditation techniques which are
equally interesting.

I don't know a lot about the origions of the tablets of Thoth, who really
wrote them or what they're for. Could be fiction, could be religion I dunno.
Anyone?
