On 2002/06/25 15:24, Meredith, Justin posted thus to the K-list: that is very interesting. it would possibly explain how an organism could
evolve from a single cell into a complete body (so to speak). i have never
heard of this idea before. so it could be that all life orginated from the
ocean, especially when you observe amphibians and how they develope.

Hi!
This is a very interesting question. ;-)
Today I think that sience are pretty sure of how life evolved on this planet
(at least to 99,9%). This is because they have done many experiments to try
to create new life (you have to exuse my poor English here, this isn't so
easy to explain in a foreign language).
I don't think this latest "news" are common knowledge yet. I must say that
this teory only explain where our biological body comes from (where the
spirit comes from is another question). ;-)

This is from a book ; The Great Cosmic Mother.
"In the beginning ... was a very female sea. For two-and-ahalf billion years
on earth, all life-forms floatad in the womb-like enviroment of the
planetary ocean - nourishad and protected by fluid chemicals, rocked by the
lunar-tidal rhythms. Charles Darwin believed the menstrual cycle originated
here, organically echoing the moon-pulse of the sea. And, because this
longest period of life's time on earth was dominated by marine forms
reproducing parthenogenetically, he concluded that female principle was
primordial. In the beginning, life did not gestate within the body of any
creature, but within the ocean womp containing all organic life. There were
no specialized sex organs, rather, a generalized female existence reproduced
itself within the female body of the sea."

Today sience believe (know) that this is correct. It means that the whole
planet was one big ocean, one big womb. In it all life that exist today and
has ever existed on earth, began. Because of two things. This ocean
contained the very chemical substans that is needed for life to devoloped
AND the atmosphere around earth was very different of that one we have
today. No air. When you (sience) try to develop life out of/in this
chemicals it will burn up because of the air we know have around us. ;-)
Wrong atmosphere, sort of speak.
So the conclusion is; only then and under this circumstances coul'd life
evolved.

Be back with more if anyone is interested. ;-)
