Hi Brett,

Glad you decided to start posting:^).

On Fundamentalist Christianity: It is exactly that--fundamental; it's like
learning your ABCs. The problem you had was that the people you were with
thought that because they knew thier ABCs they were qualified to analyze
Shakespeare. There are quite a few steps in between I believe. Start with
the fundamentals but never succumb to the notion that fundamentalism is all
there is.

On Breathing: I am not familiar with Holotropic Breathwork, but I'm about to
be thanks to your post. I utilize several forms of breathing in my study of
kriya yoga.
Kriya yoga lets you bring the energy you feel under your conscious control
and send it anywhere in your body you want. It is meditation technique, not a
physical excercise. I'm looking forward to mixing it with the Holotropic
Breathing. (Jason rubs his hands together in anticipation--a glazed look
coming into his eyes...."Muhahahah")

On smoking pot and meditation: Be careful here, I've done this a few
times..it's unpredictable at best. Drugs may induce altered states of
consciousness, but they always have side effects. I learned to look at
smoking as sort of getting a preview of whats to come in meditation....Like
it was showing you the next thing or few things you are going to be
experiencing. It is a shortcut, but the goal is the journey, not the
destination. Learn to achieve the same meditational state without chemical
assistance. Thats the difference between drug "use" and drug "abuse". You
wouldn't take sleeping pills and try to stay awake or take speed and then try
to take a nap. If you're going to use a drug, use it for the correct purpose.
It was created by the divine for a reason. Use it as temporary guide, then
you will see how to be your own guide.

On Reiki: I've had the 1st and 2nd attunements too. Their effect is that
the open the channel in spine and let the energy flow more freely. I'm
getting lvl 3 as soon as I can afford it.

On Cracking and Kriya's: I get those too. They are the energy clearing out
blockages. Muscular contractions, spontaneous asanas, cracking spine, I've
even had my sinuses pop (I've always had trouble with congestion and swollen
sinuses) When K rises, my sinuses pop and then clear up. The most
interesting effect I get is that sometimes my eyes will open wide..I mean
WIDE. And I will look around as if I've never seen anything at all before,
like vision is new experience. Kinda bizzare, but nothing to worry about.
It's all GOOD!

On the "electric shaky thing in the pelvis": I get that too from time to
time. My cat loves it. He'll want to sit on my buddha belly when it happens.
It feels sort of like a cat purring or that there is a small electric
motor--maybe about the size of an electric toothbrush--somewhere inside my
body between my waist and groin. This is the second chakra energizing. If
you let it, it will supposedly work up the chakra's. I haven't gotten it
past the third chakra yet.

On ringing ears: Each chakra creates a specific sound. In kriya yoga we
learn how to listen for these sound and place our attention on that chakra or
the next one above it if the lower one can be clearly heard. Each step up is
a more subtle sound and more difficult to hear. The first chakra sounds like
crickets; the second, a mild ringing...the third, something akin to a pan
flute; the fourth, tinkling bells or a gong; the fifth, I high pitched
metallic sound; the sixth, glorious trumpets; the seventh, thunder.
Sanskrit has spoken words associated with each of the these sounds.

>I apologize for my wordiness...

Don't! Honest communication is not always a fun thing :^), but always a good
thing!
Jump on into the Fray!

Love in each moment,

Jason B
