Hi, I agree with what you were told at your yoga center. I think suffering
helps in finally transcending one's ego. It is giving up to a higher power
if you will, whatever the individual interpretation happens to be (God or
Goddess, the overself). But this is not accomplished overnight. It must
become well grounded within the individual to be effective and I must admit
it could take years. Lillian ---- Original Message -----

experience to speak about it. However, I did attend a class last night at
my yoga center (where I just recently started going) and we discussed this
very question.

one has two choices. To move in the direction of release of suffering or,
by default, to move in the direction of continued suffering. Even if one
does not suffer overly much in this lifetime, we risk greater suffering in a
future lifetime if we abandon the path to realization.

putting it out there for consideration and comment. I'm not even sure how
much I agree with it so I would appreciate hearing others' views.
