Hi Katie,

There is a similar thing that happen to myself and my students when we
practice chi kung (sometimes called qigong). It is called "Rocks in the
Stream". Chi kung is a yogic practice we teach in martial arts. It opens up
the channels in the body; the "nadis" in sanskrit or the "meridians" in
acupuncture. When these channels are open, the "chi" or "prana" (life force
energy) can move more freely throughout the body. The energy then sets to
work clearing blockages in these channels. I have seen students
involuntarily jumb three feet into the air, straight up, when practicing chi
kung. This is caused by the energy breaking through existing blockages and
releasing them. The blockage is the "Rock" and the "Stream" is the energy.
Thus we get rocks in the stream.

Visualize a swiftly running stream passing over rocky rapids.....eventually
the stone that is causing the turbulence in the stream is moved or worn away.

That is what is happening when you jump during meditation. Unless it caused
some physical discomfort or injury it is usually considered a good thing by
Kung Fu masters as well as other "energy pracitioners"

The "chill" you said you felt sounds like when you released the energy that
was blocking your "chi", your body took a few minutes to "readjust" to the
new energy pattern. This sort of thing happens pretty frequently for me.
I'll get really scared for a few minutes. I just have to trust the process
of clearing until the fear subsides. Then its pretty peaceful and tranquil
for a while. Give K a chance to work. Try not to interfere too much. There
is really nothing to fear. I

Keep talking to us!

Love in each moment,

Jason B
