Greetings and Welcome Laurie,

You will hear many stories similar to your own here. When the kundalini
(often referred to here simply as "K") goes active there can be all kinds of
side affects. Depression is the most common because you are experiencing
your old world being destroyed and a new one built in its place. The problem
is your not quite sure what the new one is supposed to look like.

Take it one day at a time. What is happening is that you are releasing old
energy/thought patterns that are no longer serving your highest good. This
can be painful but it will pass more quickly if you just trust the process
and don't become attached or infatuated with the side effects. Accept the
fact you are depressed and keep going. The depression will pass faster this
way. Allow yourself to study the thought that is depressing to you. Accept
this as K showing you one of the things you need to release.

One word of advice I will say with all directness and candor: Don't become
trapped by things like "Telepathy". This too is a side effect, a
distraction.

As far as occupations go, as I understand it a lot of people who become
K-active have a difficult time keeping a job.....myself included. It's
almost like I'm trying to experience as many different things as possible. I
find myself drawn to things like Reiki, martial arts, anything that requires
mind and body focus.

Also I would make the suggestion that you look up "Kriya Yoga" on the
internet and learn as much as you can about it. This is my own personal path
others may have different suggestions for you on how to bring the K energy
under your conscious control.
