I dont have a tattoo personally. I don't have a problem with them, but I
don't think I'll ever get one just because I couldnt make up my mind.

My composition of personality, intellect and perspective on life changes so
incredibly fast that a beautiful 'marking' one week may disgust me the next.
It keeps you frozen in that moment I would think.

I have many odd accessories like rings and pendants (mmm celtic triad) but I
know that every night I can throw them off and any thoughts/memories or
stereotypes associated with that symbol will be thrown off with it.

I guess I show my detatchment from the physical by not changing my body.. so
maybe others show that same detatchment *by changing their body- to show
that its only the body and does not reflect them?

That sounds beautiful and is a good example
of a no regrets kind of marking.

What I have a huffy reaction to is the
let's-be-weird, elitist stuff like what comes
out of some circles at the Burning Man festival
("I am marked, therefor I am" .... give me
a friggin break).

On the other side of the street...........
some gang members have such crappy
looking skin work that they just look like they're
plastered with back alley graffiti. Bar none, every
kid I knew that moved on to a better phase of
life wanted to have the junk removed.

Some people go wild and end up with "sleeve
tattoos" all the way up their necks and entirely
covering their arms down to the wrist. From
a distance all you can see is dark inked skin with
white hands sticking out and it looks like they have
gorilla fur.

I'm sorry, it just doesn't look good to me.

What's wrong with the human body as it is? I
think it's beautiful in all shapes, sizes and colors.

If chosen very thoughtfully, a good tattoo can
complement and bring a person out.... not hide
them behind a trend or affiliation.

That's my soap box sermon for the day.

I better step down before I topple over.

Love and Water Base Face Paint
to You All,

Paul
