I have been lurking on the k-list for a while now, and I want to ask a question
 of the group.

 I have learned to feel energy (i generally refer to it as chi since that
 is the framework in which I first experienced the phenomenon) through martial
 arts practice and a degree of self-experimentation. I can always sense
 it with my palms and I can also project consistently it from my palms to
 a small degree - the farthest distance I have ever been able to feel it
 is probably with my palms about 1 foot away from each other.

 I am sensitive
 to the energy all over - for example, if I project the energy from my palm
 to my knee, I can feel it on my knee. I can't really project it from anywhere
 else with any consistency.

 I have not had much success in moving the energy to other parts of my body
 other than to my solar plexus, where at times I have been able to feel a
 pole perpendicular to my body, extending from my solar plexus to my spine
 and an equal distance in the opposite direction, outside of my body. I
 don't have much control over this process... it generally comes out when
 I am with someone I am in love with or strongly attracted to.

 Books on martial arts energy manipulation that I have read seem to recommend
 the microcosmic orbit as a general practice, but I haven't had much success
 in moving the energy from the places I have already felt it. I don't really
 want to try and force it as I don't know anyone skilled in energy healing
 if I somehow manage to hurt myself.

 Can anyone tell me what my experiences might mean, if anything, as well
 as some steps I could take to increase my ability?
