    During my 24 years of professionally working with domestic violence,
the ONLY permanently successful escape from a physically violent abuser,
which I have seen, is for the victim to physically distance her/himself
from the abuser. Move to another State, possibly to supportive relatives or
friends, or with a changed name.
    Audio tapes made without the other persons knowledge/consent
areinadmissable in court. Law enforcement personel, such as the police, are
only that ... enforcement of laws ... they, nor the lawyers or the courts
.... can control an abusers behavior ... if he truly means to hurt, or
kill, he will and does more often than is commonly known.
    Do not attempt to "outsmart" an abuser ... his motivation is very strong
...and if you are caught, there'll be a price to pay.
