On 2002/03/31 20:06, Soitpp posted thus to the K-list: sometimes I like to establish 'goals'. First step is to ask the racing mind
what it is racing after. Why do you race racing mind? What is the name of the
game you are trying to win? I ask the racing mind if we can come to some
logical agreements.
The racing mind seems to work more like a computer than a slowly working
emotional aspect. Why are you racing, my racing mind? What do you believe
lies waiting for you at the finish line? Such questions already begin to calm
it's racing demeanor. I tell the racing mind (which some people I think call
Ego, however I don't believe that is the full breadth of what the entirety of
Ego is) that we certainly aren't going to get to the finish line tonight. And
that perhaps there is no finish line at all. I tell the racing mind the
qualities it is racing after are attainable, but only in as much as it is
willing to put on the brakes. I don't fight with the racing mind, I want to
honor it's racing qualities rather than attempt to smudge them. I know it's
racing is out of Love, and that all things come out of Love and have a hidden
meaning. So basically, when my mind is racing so furiously, I sit in the
passenger seat, and try to pass a few kind words to the driver. Who's name
mind be Chaos afterall. Of course, I am both the driver and the passenger.
But in order to bring my different parts together as One, I must fully
understand their individual idiosyncrasis. Afterall, without accepting the
racing mind for what it is, which often drives off a feeling of chaos and
lack, I won't be able to reassure that part of myself that things are going
to be alright. Giving the racing mind more reasons to race "You don't have..
you aren't... you can't unless.." certainly isn't going to help it to stop
it's frusterated driving habits... which no doubt leads at times to road
rage.
Remember when [actors-name] took his hands off the wheel and put his foot
down on the accelerator trusting only in fate to lead him safely through in
the movie "Fight Club". Now that was crazy.
Peace ~.~
