Dear Mia,
    Thank you for your wonderful story! I have been a "chef" for 18 years, and I whole heartedly agree that prepared food carries the energies of the preparer! It is possible to transmute negative energy in food prepared by someone else into positive energy, (after all, it is all energy), by "passing" the -energy through your +"filters", and breathing it back to the environment, (I just realized my little signature file is an example of what I'm saying!). How wonderful that compassion, love and peace can be conveyed in such a manner! I also think that you highlight the importance of what even a single individual can do in the face of the kind of pain and suffering that occurs in wars, (or other tragedies), such as in Sarajevo... a compassionate heart is like a small sun in the darkness of such a conflict.

  Some years ago i still lived in Germany in a little old town called " Passau", near the Austrian border in the South. Passau is situated at the Danube and i could see the river valley from my window. Around Easter that year they were fighting in Sarajevo and Sarajevo is at the Danube also. Whenever i walked along the river or crossed one of her bridges, i was thinking about the people some hundred miles down the river, starving and frightened, cold and full of despair.
  On Easter Sunday morning i was up early. My daughter and my friend were still sleeping when i started to prepare the dough for the Easter bread.
  I'm very sensitive to energies in food. I can read the thoughts of the cook, because whatever
