Hi Jason,

You make me think of the old teach to fish, give a fish parable :0)

I totally agree with you - a therapist is good at the start if things
are rocky but I am of the mind that it is really us who needs to do the
work and be able to let go in ourselves. It's actually funny for me as
I've always doubted whether a therapist could keep up with what's going
on with me now - I think they would end up crazy also (joking!) :0) I
think there is strength in sorting out your own mess - I realise this is
also my belief but I think there is a point where you got to start
moving on your own and doing the work.

I also used to be of the belief that I needed to understand myself but
really this was a hindrance to the process. Just let go of it - I don't
need to learn the lesson for this too becomes another attachment. The
only lesson I need to know is let go of everything and letting go of
letting go and my desire to let go also... okay I'm being silly but
really all these thoughts and ideas are just attachments and filters to
pure experience (awareness) which is what life is to me now.
Christopher's recent post sums this up wonderfully. We learn to separate
ourselves from everything by being educated and socialised and
conditioned into society.

And now I think of something else.... There is a wonderful story about
an unrecognised yogin who in his final days of life went in to the
mountains to be alone. His friends and family after finding him there
were reminding him to not forget the teaching. He beamed back and said
I've forgotten them all. (from The Tibetan Book Of Living and Dieing by
Sogyal Rinpoche, p168)

On another note, I think this list is wonderful - it seems to have it's
own energy and moves in directions relating to the individuals here.
There is so much exchange going on it's brilliant.

Okay I'm starting to spout... I'll shut up :-|

I can't recommend a good therapist in Austin TX but I can recommend
Mystress Angelique - I'm sure she moves around when needed :0)

With love,

Rich
