I had a very sudden and violent awakening that nearly killed me, 4 yr. ago.
I didn't eat or sleep for 3 months. ( 1 piece of toast a day and 1 hour
sleep every 72 hours) I hung on by a thread and am sure that if I would have
relaxed my will to live -- I would have died.Had to sit alone in silence.
for most of it. I didn't read Gopi's book until 2 months ago. I have heard
that people have died from it -- at least misdiagnosed and locked up. I
wonder how many are still locked up and sedated . Ditto about the psychosis.
I lost all body and emotional control and about 6 weeks into it I had brain
seizures. For two yr. after that I was so out of wack I didn't know if I was
going to live or ever be physically ok again. Started to level off at 3 yr.
and it has mellowed out over the last year.I was not in good physical shape
and had no knowledge of what was going on.
My awakening was similar to Gopi's but not as intense and the duration was
less. But I nearly died from it.
I think the warnings are valid, if it's a sudden and unexpected waking but
it sounds like most on this site are experiencing a gradual awakening -- so
it's slow and relatively mild.

P.S. Prescription drugs and trauma were involved in my awakening.
