Greetings,

I have read excerpts from Gopi Krishna's books, I agree he is a "fire and
brimstone" kind of author. His warnings may be a bit overstated, but I have
had my own experiences with fear because of K activity. I have been
homicidal, suidcidal and absolutely certain I was the devil incarnate. In
these severe cases I had to rely on faith and a little bit of down to earth
intellectual common sense in order not to respond to these irrational
impulses. I think Gopi's fear is that an unprepared person may have a K
awakening and take action based on similar impulses, ergo the warnings. A
person who is prepared, either from past experience or by training from a
guru or other teachers, need have no fear of these frightening occurrences
because the prepared person recognizes these for what they are: a clearing of
their karma. Anytime I meditate now I always remind myself repeatedly that I
may see something that frightens me, and I have but to ride out the "storm"
to see the lesson that it teaches. All of my "fearful" K experiences have
all ultimately resulted in what I see as positive transformations. We must
face our fears in order to evolve.
